this one has two clolours blendes together this is usualy doe by moving the darker towards the area you want to fade and putting less and less pressure on the marker do this for both colours you want to fade then use a blending marker (i find that paint thinner on cotton woll works better than prismacolours blending marker) 
on this one i cant see any blending (might just be me) but the artist has used similar shades of the same colour

then do basic letters before you do all the pretty fills there are out there this way your letters are at the same level as your fills
