| | If I paint without one I have a bad taste in my mouth for the rest of the day. ('specially after my spray art stuff 'cause I'm there for a long while with all sorts of stuff spraying)

| | Yeah you also get a nasty high. I recommend respirators for 1+ hours. Or if it's windy, otherwise in the long run you're going to end up brain dead.

| | im saying this again, though ive propably said it a few times already. breathing techniques...... no one is telling you to sniff and inhale all the paint fumes you give out, and no one is telling you to be happy about it if you do. bandanas are worth shit, so if you use em, youre better of not using them.
if you got a proper mask, good for you, but unfortunately all of us cant have them, and thats where experience kicks in. you have to know when you can breathe, how long the distance has to be, and where youre painting. some places dont allow you to breathe very freely, so you have to use bigger caps in order to have the breaks you need. nuff said

| | That was beautiful, Baze. Very poetic.
Oh and Bandanas only make you look cool. Not worth being brain dead. I thought I was going to pass out the first time I painted with a bandana over my mouth and nose for 3 hours. augh, then I had to bike home. Pretty sure I looked like a crackhead. Anyway, What I find is the best in the windter, you know those neckwarmers, the ones you pull over your head? Purrrfect.

if so no, most dont filter the air (if its the sort that does its not as good as a 'proper' one its for people who aren't going to be spraying for too long). what they do is they stop dust getting into your lungs, use a respirator designed for paint fumes.
personally i never use a respirator nor have i painted with anyone who does, unless you are going to be painting very frequently or have cash to burn i wouldn't recommend one.

not a good way to get fumed though.. and a nasty headache. This is the first bad advice i have seen from you, i recomend whatever you can get, anything helps, although i haven't had the time or neccesity for a resperator, but had seen how badly a thick "3m" mask get's filled with paint now multiply that a few hundred times and put it in you lungs. i you don't want to get a mask then just make sure you are in the really open outdoors and drink milk. |

if your worried about the problems wear one but if your going to piece a few times and decide graffiti isnt what you want to do then its a waste of money.
