community preconceptions of street art.

i'm not much of a street artist myself, but I was wondering does anyone here think of it as an art or a purely subversive act?

would you be as into it if it was legal?

Well If you refer us graffiti artists as "us" and every on else the "public" then, all of us think that graffiti art on the street is awesome. And around 10% (or some shit) think graffiti is good aswell and they are interested. and then there is the goverment. If they like what you do, they ask if you want to make murals about green energy and such. but if they do not like it they will remove it. so some people do think graffiti is not vandalism and some people do.... yeah.

Grand Rapids Michigan was the site of a massive public art project this past weekend. Thousands of participants used 30,000 multicolored sidewalk chalk sticks to draw all over several blocks of the city’s downtown. The first-ever Grand Rapids Chalk Flood, was organized by Rob Bliss, who has had similar success with other “urban experiments” like giant pillow fights and zombie walks. A wide variety of people joined in the joyful street art event, which brought the community together, and brought tons of extra business to local shops.
