I actually hate this canvas. I hate pastels...I HATE PASTELS!!!!!!!
Let me re-iterate that: I hate pastels. With a firey passion, people.

So why did I do it? Because I'm running out of time for X-mas gifts and I have no idea where my paint is. FUCK! if only I could find it. AND i have another one to do before tomorrow. goddamnit.

It's abstract art of dogwood. An asian kind of flower that grows on a tree. Something like that. So no the "figure 8" is actually the part of the tree. If you'll look closely there's actually brown in it as well. And there's no pencil shadings. I'm just that good at shading chalk pastel...Medium canvas. It was actually what took me the most time. Augh
It's supposed to be a simple piece of work.

did you use oil-based paint on the buildings obseen? i like how youve managed to get those shadows pumped instead of just trying to make them be there. not feeling the water color sky, but thats just my personal opinion. i think this is in the progress, but im not sure. if i was you, id add a little something something to the middle, since leaving the sky like it is will leave a naked feeling, cause the buildings are pictured on upscale
